Jewelry Care

Mara Paris jewelry is crafted with love and passion to be cherished for a long time. Please look after them with care. Follow these tips to ensure their longevity.

Wearing Open Rings

Despite their open shapes, MARA PARIS open rings are not adjustable. Because we use our hands all day long on a daily basis, rings are prone to external pressures more frequently than other jewellery, regardless of their composition or price. Avoid catching them on clothes, hair, pockets, bags or other objects.

If the size does not fit, kindly refrain from attempting to adjust or modify the form of the jewelry. Instead, gently remove it without force, discontinue use, and ensure it remains intact. You can contact us at hello@mara.paris or visit our boutique at 29 rue Chapon 75003 Paris for an exchange. Our size guide is available on our website for assistance in taking measurements.

Maintenance of Vermeil Jewellery

Mara Paris Vermeil is produced in our partner workshops with the highest standards of quality using 18K gold plating with a thickness of at least 5 microns on top of sterling silver with electroplating technique.

Vermeil is much more valuable than gold plated jewellery, but it can naturally lose its shine over time. We recommend that you avoid friction and contact with chlorine, seawater, cosmetics and alcohol.

Regardless of the metal or model, jewelry remains a precious object. It is essential to avoid situations that could damage it. Be careful to avoid friction and limit polishing with cleaning cloths containing products.

Caring for 925 Sterling Silver Jewellery

925 sterling silver is a low maintenance metal that can be worn every day. Oxidation, a natural reaction, can occur with exposure to air, humidity or cosmetics. The skin’s PH may also expedite oxidation of the silver. Do not worry, if your silver jewel loses its original shine, you can gently clean it with a silver polishing cloth and it will return to its original state.

Earring Backs & Posts

At MARA PARIS, every piece is meticulously crafted and undergoes a two-step quality control process. First at our trusted ateliers, then verified once again by our in-house team at our Paris studio before making its way to you.

To help your earrings maintain their shape and last beautifully over time, we recommend removing and securing the earring backs with gentle care. Avoid applying excessive force or twisting, as this may cause long-term damage.

Our jewelry is made from precious metals such as sterling silver, vermeil, and solid gold. These materials are refined and durable, but not elastic. That means they are not designed to withstand repeated bending or sudden impact. For example, if the post (the thin part that goes through the ear) is bent back and forth too often or too forcefully, it may eventually weaken or break. To prevent this, the best approach is simple: take your time, and handle your earrings delicately when putting them on or taking them off.

We also strongly advise against carrying your earrings loose in pockets or bags, as this can cause the posts to bend or become misshapen. Instead, store them safely in their original box or a protective case when on the move.

Earrings That Curve Into the Ear

Some of our earring styles, like the Hope Huggie, Morning Dance, Minimalist Huggie, or Celestial Earrings, are designed to follow the natural curve of the ear. Rather than hanging from the earlobe like traditional styles, they contour inward, hugging the inner shape of the ear to create a sleek, architectural silhouette. These earrings feel more like a natural extension of your ear than a decorative add-on.

Because of this unique close-fit structure, they may feel a little different from what you're used to at first. The motion of putting them on or taking them off might seem unfamiliar, but don’t worry. After just a few wears, it becomes second nature.

We recommend giving yourself a moment to get comfortable with the movement. Take it slow, be gentle, and allow yourself to find your own intuitive way of wearing them. Avoid forcing the piece or bending the post, as precious metals are not elastic and can be damaged by unnecessary pressure.

Once you’re used to them, these earrings will become effortless to wear. Elegant, everyday companions that feel as natural as they are sculptural.

With just a little care, your MARA PARIS earrings will remain beautiful for years to come.
